Itinerary
The tabs below give you a brief overview of a typical Trigarda Active Holiday. Further details of the specific itinerary for each holiday will be provided to participants closer to the date of the retreat.
You will be picked up from Verona airport in the early evening and transferred to your accommodation in Arco, Trentino. After check-in, there will be an opportunity to explore the local town, if you fancy a quick bite to eat or night cap before bed.
After a healthy buffet breakfast, we will set out on the first cycle ride of the weekend, which is a leisurely 40km round trip to Lake Cavedine. We will make several stops on the way to soak in the atmosphere, including a stop for lunch at a cafe next to the lake. We then continue on to the historic Toblino Castle where there will be plenty of opportunities to take photos and enjoy the amazing views. On the way back to Arco, we stop off at Ponte Romano, an old Roman bridge across the River Sarca, with a chance to take a dip and cool off in the crystal clear mountain water. We return to Arco in the late afternoon for a well deserved ‘aperitivo’ and ice cream. Later that evening, there will be a chance to get to know the rest of your group over some tasty pizza and local wine. This is all included as part of the Trigarda Active Holiday package.
For those eager to make the most of the activities on offer, early morning run sessions are available. This short 5km run up to Arco Castle first thing in the morning will be sure to get you ready for the day ahead. After breakfast, you can choose from a number of optional activities, including watersports, climbing, mountain biking or exploring the historic local area on foot. Some of these activities require an additional charge and this will be advised on booking. In the afternoon, we will visit Lake Tenno by bike or van as preferred. This lake is a stunning turquoise lagoon set in the mountains high above Lake Garda, where we can relax and swim in the enticing pristine water. After returning to Arco for a drink and ice cream, you can either relax at the villa or continue into the night at one of the local bars. Dinner that night is, again, on us and we will treat you to the locally acclaimed ‘Veganima’ which serves up healthy vegan meals with an italian twist.
The final day will again provide the option of an early morning run before breakfast. We will then cycle to the nearby towns of Torbole and Riva on the northern shorefront of Lake Garda. Here you will be able to look around the shops and cafes and enjoy the stunning views of the lake. Subject to weather conditions, we will then venture out on kayaks to a nearby hidden waterfall on Lake Garda. Later that day we will unfortunately have to whisk you away, back to the airport, for your return flight home.
